Set dedicated to mental illness takes third at ICCAs

For this moment.

Every week for four hours we worked for this moment, when we would stand upon the Scottsdale Center for the Arts and tell our story to an audience that loves a cappella as much as we do.

And the work paid off.

We placed 3rd and Justine Saugen received the award for Best Choreography for the entire set.

The set was dedicated to anyone dealing with mental illness by Michael Woodson, who arranged the music. The set went from Icarus, where a person is flying too close to the sun and falls, to The Kill, where the choreography shows the voices in your head that you can't block out. Finally, it ends with How Far We've Come, to show the light at the end of the tunnel and recovery from that illness.
